The Active 1D+® and Active 2D® lightning rods can be tested in the factory or on-site using the test unit. However, it is strongly recommended to have the product tested by qualified personnel from the manufacturer.
The Franklin France wired tester AFV0050TT allows the Active 1D+® and Active 2D® lightning rods to be tested on-site using a telescopic pole AFV0087PT. Simple and quick, this test (compliant with standard NFC 17–102) can be carried out either by removing the lightning rod or by using the telescopic pole (AFV0087PT), which allows it to be reached up to 8 metres.
The Franklin France wired tester Franklin France is powered by a battery included.
This tester power supply operates with a battery (provided). The display with indicator lights indicates instantly the obtained result (positive or negative), green or red according to the result.
Connect one of the isolated “crocodile” clip to the rod of the ACTIVE 1D+® and the other one to the lower part.
This tester consists of a portable ABS plastic housing, equipped with a green LED indicating a successful test, a red LED indicating a malfunction of the lightning rod, and 2 crocodile clips — one to be connected to the tip of the Active 1D+® or Active 2D® and the other to the thread of the lower spark gap. The LED display instantly shows the result obtained (positive or negative).
The upper hook of the pole must be positioned at the base of the lightning rod tip. It is connected to one of the two clips of the tester (AFV0050TT). The second clip is connected to the lightning rod down conductor located at the base of the extension mast.
