Through an exclusive collaboration with LiRi (Lightning Innovation & Research Institute), Franklin France combines research expertise and training opportunities to offer a comprehensive approach to understanding and protecting against the phenomenon of lightning.
– LIRI CAMPUS
With its training centre, Franklin France brings the lightning phenomenon within everyone’s reach and offers a training programme tailored to your needs for the prescription and installation of lightning protection systems. LiRi offers training courses leading to Qualifoudre certification:
– The lightning phenomenon
– The effects of lightning
– Direct protection systems (lightning conductors)
– Indirect protection systems (lightning arresters)
– Standards in force
– Rules for installing a lightning protection system
This course leads to the Qualifoudre N1 and N2 diplomas.
– LIRI LAB
According to the French standard NFC 17-102 September 2011, lightning conductors with a triggering device must be tested in a high-voltage laboratory (calculation of the advance time to triggering). The LIRI laboratory can assess the reaction time of lightning conductors to microsecond accuracy, with a view to qualifying their effectiveness and certifying their compliance with French and international standards, while also assessing their performance. These tests include voltage efficiency assessments, current tests, as well as corrosion and environmental resistance tests. Franklin France also works with French research centres such as the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (C.E.A), France Telecom’s R&D centre (CNET), Electricité de France (EDF) and L.C.I.E.
