At an altitude of 1,800 meters on the Anterne plateau, the Alfred Wills Refuge is now protected against lightning thanks to the installation of our Active 1D+ early streamer emission, carried out by our subsidiary Franklin Centre-Est.
As the site is accessible only on foot, the equipment was transported by helicopter, and the installation was carried out in full compliance with the environmental regulations of the nature reserve of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, in Haute-Savoie.
Lightning protection is particularly crucial in mountainous areas, where the risk is increased by altitude and exposed summits. Thanks to this state-of-the-art technology, the refuge, its caretakers, and nearby hikers are now safeguarded, even under extreme weather conditions.
We congratulate the Franklin Centre-Est teams for their expertise and professionalism in completing this technically demanding and environmentally respectful installation.
